JENNIFER Guild will address an upcoming Food Ingredients Conference on "Advances in Natural Colour" to take place 9th and 10th of February at The Bloomsbury Hotel in London.
At 11:30 GMT on Thursday, 9th of February, Ms Guild will present "Natural Colour & Colouring Foodstuffs:  Successfully navigating through an uncertain regulatory environment and preparing for future legislation."
To provide the latest guidance for marketers and product developers in the food industry, Ms. Guild’s presentation will: (1) Outline the current regulatory framework governing the use of natural colours, caramel and colouring foodstuffs in key global markets, including the EU, the US and Asia; (2) Compare the accepted use of language across different markets to understand the limitations placed on food products by legislation; and (3) Examine the decision tree of colouring foodstuffs and additives within Europe and discuss the timeline and expected guidance from the European Commission on the classification of food extracts with colouring properties.
Ms Guild is Global Food Science and Regulatory manager for D.D. Williamson. Over the past 13 years, she has evaluated the regulations of colours for 70+ countries to clarify labelling, allergens, genetically modified organisms, organic foods and more.
