Colgate Dentrifice Contains Zinc and Polyphosphate Ions
US Patent No. 8,628,755 B2; Colgate-Palmolive Company has patented a dentrifice containing a zinc ion source; a polyphosphate ion source; an anethole; and; a silica. The mean particle size of the silica is approximately 5-12 microns, an Einlehner hardness of approximately 1-20, and an oil absorption of about 40 to less than about 100cc/100g. 

Denture Care Composition
US 8,623,388 B2; The Procter & Gamble Company has patented a denture care composition that contains an active including one or more sweeteners, sensates or flavors—where in the ratio of the weight of sensates to the weight of flavors in the composition is from approximately 0.5 to approximately 2.0; the ratio of the weight of flavors to the weight of sweeteners in the composition is from approximately 1.0 to approximately 4.0; the ratio of the weight of sensates to the weight of sweeteners in the composition is from about 1.0 to about 4.0; and/or the ratio of the combined weight of sensates and flavors to the weight of sweeteners in the composition is from about 0.4 to about 40—and one or more water insoluble carriers. The composition is bioerodible, not a denture adhesive, and substantially free of polybutene with a molecular weight of approximately 300-3000 when the composition is not an article, and is applied to dentures. 

Galderma Patents Oral Acne Treatment
US Patent No. 8,658,189 B2; Galderma has been awarded a patent for an oral method of treating acne in a human. It entails administering systemically a tetracycline compound in an amount that is effective to treat acne but has substantially no antibiotic activity, without administering a bisphosphonate compound.
