Water-Activated Multi-Functional Wipe Patented by SC Johnson

US Patent No. 8,541,356 B2; SC Johnson has patented a cleaning wipe substrate having at least a first section and a second section, the first section and the second section each being physically distinct regions of the substrate. The cleaning composition is releasably associated with the first section, the cleaning composition comprising a green surfactant; and disinfecting/sanitizing composition releasably associated with the second section, the disinfecting/sanitizing composition comprising a green disinfecting/sanitizing agent. The first and second sections are positioned relative to each other to prevent contact between the cleaning composition and the disinfecting/sanitizing composition when the cleaning wipe is substantially free of water.


Water-Activated Wipe From S.C. Johnson

? US Patent No. 8,278,260 B2; S.C. Johnson & Son has been awarded a patent for a cleaning wipe consisting of a substrate and a cleaning composition impregnated into the substrate.

The cleaning composition consists of a green nonionic surfactant, a green hydrotrope, a green pH adjusting agent, from 0 to 0.001 weight percent streak reduction agent, natural fragrances, water, and optionally a green anionic surfactant and one or more green antimicrobial agents, wherein the green nonionic surfactant is an alkylpolyglycoside, the green hydrotrope is an alkyl glucoside, and the total green surfactant is present from at least 40% weight and up to 80% weight. The cleaning composition has a Natural Index of at least 95%.


P&G Patents Wet Wipes

US 8,377,459 B2; Procter & Gamble Company has patented a wet wipe comprising a nonwoven material releasably carrying an oil-in-water emulsion composition.

The oil-in-water emulsion composition is comprised of an emollient; a surfactant selected from the group consisting of nonionic surfactants, amphoteric surfactants, anionic surfactants, cationic surfactants and combinations thereof; a preservative, wherein said preservative is a paraben-based antimicrobial comprising methylparaben, ethylparaben and propylparaben; at least 0.80% of a soothing agent selected from the group consisting of PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil, PEG-7 hydrogenated castor oil, PEG-50 hydrogenated castor oil, PEG-30 castor oil, sorbitan isostearate, isoceteth-20, sorbeth-30, sorbitan monooleate, coceth-7, PPG-1-PEG-9 lauryl glycol ether, PEG-45 palm kernel glycerides, PEG-20 almond glycerides, PEG-24 hydrogenated lanolin, PEG-20 hydrogenated lanolin, PEG-6 caprylic/capric glycerides, PPG-1 PEG-9 lauryl glycol ether, lauryl glucoside polyglyceryl-2 dipolyhydroxystearate, sodium glutamate, polyvinylpyrrolidone, N-vinylcaprolactam, sodium coco PG-dimonium chloride phosphate, linoleamidopropyl PG-dimonium chloride phosphate, sodium borageamidopropyl PG-dimonium chloride phosphate, N linoleamidopropyl PG-dimonium chloride phosphate dimethicone, cocamidopropyl PG-dimonium chloride phosphate, stearamidopropyl PG-dimonium chloride phosphate, stearamidopropyl PG-dimonium chloride phosphate, cetyl alcohol, and combinations thereof; and water.

The oil-in-water emulsion composition has a skin gentleness index of less than about 0.3.
