The European trade association, Food Supplements Europe, has chosen food industry experts to head its Board. Ingrid Atteryd, a leader in the Swedish healthcare business, and managing director of Svensk Egenv?rd, the Swedish food supplements association, will serve a term of two years as chair. Dr Gareth Barker, VP Human Nutrition & Health EMEA at DSM will take up the role of vice-chair. Other Board positions have been evenly allocated between associations and companies.
Food Supplements Europe, which implements a strategic vision for this sector in Europe, has prioritised a number of areas for immediate action across the full supplement range, from vitamins and minerals to botanical ingredients.
“This is great that the industry have come together under one umbrella communicating with one voice,” Said Ms Atteryd. “There is great strength when pan EU companies work closely together with small and medium sized companies. I feel honoured to have this opportunity to lead Food Supplements Europe into future success and growth for the industry.”
Food Supplements Europe is made up trade associations and companies working together to represent the EU’s food supplement sector and ensure appropriate legislation that reflects the significant value of sector to public health.
