Sales Manager Li Ying Zong revealed in an interview with International Metalworking News for Asia (IMNA) Li Kang’s future projects and the history of the company.
IMNA: What are the advantages of your products?
Li: The LT series is developed by us. At the beginning there was only LT-10 and then we developed LT-06, LT-16, and LT-25. The clamping capability of these products ranges from 2mm to 25mm.
IMNA: How do you reinforce the rigidity of your chucks?
Li: The issue is about the raw materials and the processing procedure. We purchase our materials from Japan and Taiwan, processing them with special thermal treatment and making those materials into chucks with high rigidity. Regarding the accessories, some are made from Taiwanese materials but if we are to make items with wider diameters (more than 100 mm) then we use Japanese materials. Our thermal treatment includes cryogenic treatment as the standard procedure because it stabilises the materials. Besides rigidity, product precision is one of the core values of our products and this is implemented by the advancement of the high-end facilities. We have advanced facilities, plus excellent employees, so we can ensure our quality to customers.
IMNA: Which applications are your products used?
Li: Our products are applied in CNC machines for medical, 3C, and aerospace industries. Those are our main applications.
IMNA: How do you sell your products to China and ASEAN markets?
Li: We have cooperated with local agents in China for many years. Those agents are in Shenzhen, Shanghai, Ningbo, Kunshan, and Chongqing. Those four areas established many stands around China.
Regarding the ASEAN market, many of our products are sold to Malaysia and Thailand. We also cooperate with some local agents in these areas. The rest, we sell thru Taiwanese agents.
IMNA: How is your operation in 2013 compared to 2012?
Li: We experienced some difficulties this year due to the world economy. Even though we have new products added into our catalogue, the operation is the same as 2012. However, I am optimistic about 2014. Our third factory commenced operation in April this year. More production lines will be installed by 2014 running in full capacity. When the third factory becomes operational, we will have two more production lines and our output will increase by 30%.
Meanwhile, we plan to look for another location for our fourth factory as we develop more product types, we will seek another location for the fourth factory.
