LYCORED’s Dry Tomato Pulp is a 100% natural foodstuff ingredient from tomato, and is available in an easily soluble dry granule form and can be declared on the label simply as ‘Tomato,’. The 3-in-1 foodstuff ingredient solution adds a vibrant, authentic, and consistent red color to sauces such as pasta sauces, condiments, soups, ready meals, and processed meats without the risks of turning brown like some other colorants. Besides an appealing texture, it provides both soluble and insoluble high-fiber content that can be declared on the label to boost the product’s health credentials.

An alternative to tomato paste
The product is part of Lycored’s 100% Tomato – Foodstuff ingredients portfolio, a range of natural tomato-based ingredients that offers a ‘real food’ solution that improves taste, texture, and appearance in recipes. Designed as a strong alternative to tomato paste that is inconsistent in terms of quality, the Dry Tomato Pulp can also replace commonly used thickeners such as starch that do not appeal to consumers looking for recognizably natural ingredients.
This product will be featured by Lycored at the upcoming Food ingredients Europe 2015, which will run from December 1 to 3 at Paris Nord Villepinte, France.
The company will also exhibit its range of natural colors, vibrant reds, oranges, and yellows that food and beverage manufacturers can use in place of artificial ingredients. Two core offerings from the natural colorings range include the Tomat-O-Red and Lyc-O-Beta.
The Tomat-O-Red, which is created using tomato-derived lycopene, is ideal for fruit preparations, dairy products, confectionery, meat, baked goods, and beverages. It offers a more technically sound red coloring alternative to unstable beetroot, anthocyanins, and carmine, which is not vegetarian-friendly.
The Lyc-O-Beta is sourced from Blakeslea trispora, a beta-carotene-rich, allergen-free natural fungus cultivated by Lycored. The natural beta-carotene extracted from this offers a spectrum of yellow to orange shades that can be used in bakery, fillings, confectionery, dairy, and beverages.
Lycored’s natural colors are certified Kosher and Halal. They are non-GMO, vegetarian, and feature heat, light, and pH stability. They produce an authentic appearance to a wide range of products without compromising clean label.
Established in 1995, Lycored is a leading manufacturer of natural carotenoids for food, beverage, and dietary supplement products. The Israel-based company develops and supplies natural ingredient formulations in four main business areas, namely active health ingredients for wellness, colorings, ingredients for taste and texture improvement, and nutrient premixes for fortification. It has sales and production operations in the UK, Switzerland, the US, Ukraine and China.
