To satisfy the surging demand for all kinds of machinery and equipment, MACHINEX Arabia was staged in 2011 as a first time event to showcase the best equipment and services; and to provide a meeting point for manufacturers, entrepreneurs and prospective partners. MACHINEX Arabia, held in Jeddah, the Kingdom's commercial centre is the perfect annual meeting place for global suppliers of machinery and equipment and like-minded Saudi manufacturers and businessmen to explore together the huge prospects prevailing in this most lucrative market.

Multiplied business opportunities in 2012
MACHINEX Arabia will be twice the show of previous years because it will be co-located with propac arabia 2012.Two shows under one roof will attract the biggest audience ever for the two events. This is a logical link. Our market research has revealed the closest relationship between the visitors to our two major exhibitions over recent years. So, by combining the two, visitors will see more products and meet more exhibitors for these related market sectors. And exhibitors will have the greatest opportunity to meet more new customers, potential partners and the latest business strands to explore and exploit.

The momentum builds
The Kingdom's unprecedented development programme continues to create an equally demanding need for the best resources, especially for machines, equipment and systems across all industrial sectors. It is estimated that US$40 billion were invested in the project during 2011 and that budget is due to increase year on year for the duration of the programme to 2020.

By that date, a total budget of US$500 billion will have been invested in Saudi Arabia's infrastructure to provide for its expanding population and to replace its oil income with manufacturing revenue. In the past three years, 12 industrial cities have been established across the Kingdom, increasing their number from 14 to 26. The number of manufacturing factories has doubled with investments amounting to more than US$70 billion, according to the Saudi Industrial Property Authority (MODON). This investment currently employs approximately a labour force of more than 500,000 and generates revenue of nearly US$100 billion that is expected to rise to US$140 billion by 2015.

All these developments are in addition to the two industrial cities in the Royal Commission of Al Jubail & Yanbu and the five economic cities coming on stream, including the multibillion US dollar King Abdullah Economic City whose construction is in full swing.

This is the most ambitious programme ever undertaken in the Gulf States. So, the demand for the people, systems and equipment to enable the programme to maintain its momentum is due to increase across all market sectors.
