
WITH two factories in Taichung, Taiwan and another in Kunshan, China, yearly output is in excess of 2000 units.
INTERNATIONAL METALWORKING NEWS FOR ASIA (IMNA) interviewed company President Scart Chiao shared its experiences in the business, technology, expertise and future growth.
IMNA: How did you start your company, and what previous experience did you have that made you confident you could succeed in this field?
CHIAO: In the beginning, I just think about doing what I really know with my partner. At that time, we were working on a band saw machine to see if we can make it stronger. During these 30 years, we always find the best way to improve the manufacture of our machines and create new functions to help our customers.
IMNA: How has your own technology and expertise influenced and impacted the metalworking industry in Asia?
CHIAO: We also learn from our customers. EVERISING does a lot of customization. We have our own R&D department that is responsible for creating new technologies for our machines. As you know the R&D department is the most important, it is like the heart of a human. We spend a lot of time and money to design new models.
IMNA: What steps are you taking then, from a management point of view to stay competitive and progressive?
CHIAO: In the beginning of EVERISING, there were only four people. Now, there are more than 400 people in our group. Every year, we sell more than a thousand machines worldwide. We have established an organised system. Each department, such as managing, financial, sales, production line, QC, and R&D function smoothly.
IMNA: Will you keep up the public exposure, attend local international shows, and stay out front in the media?
CHIAO: Our marketing department is doing some advertising, like public exposures, and attending local and international tradeshows. We also use the internet and recently launched our APP to help our sales and also save costs. Recently, we made a database system and offer this to our agents and customers all over the world. The data base is related to the working materials and our machines. It can really help customers set up their machine.
IMNA: Where do you sell all the equipment you manufacture? What markets are you targeting?
CHIAO: We do global networking ourselves. However, the market is different in every area. The global economy changes fast. The 2008 Financial Crisis has almost killed the manufacturing in the world. But we managed to do enterprise application integration during the crisis, and hoped for a stronger system after the crunch was over.
Now in Asia, the business is much better compared to other places. The U.S. business is better in these two years. Nevertheless, the European business is not going too fast. We will try to do more activity to raise the business in Europe.
