MAG Automotive again honored as best supplier

Chinese-American joint venture SAIC-GM-Wuling, with 1.5 million vehicles sold in 2012, is one of the largest Chinese automobile manufacturers. Its product line includes the Sunshine model, the vehicle with the third-largest production figure worldwide (1.1 million vehicles a year). For engine components including cylinder crankcases, cylinder heads and crankshafts, the company relies on MAG machines, produced at the Eislingen and G?ppingen sites. On the occasion of this year’s supplier conference in Chongqing, China, SGM Wuling presented MAG with the outstanding supplier award for the third time. The Chinese automotive supplier achievement award recognizes high performance and efficiency in the areas of technology partnerships and the quality of systems and service.

The successful collaboration on this project was essential for SGMW in its decision to award MAG the follow-up order for the continued expansion of capacities at the Qingdao site. Dr. Manfred Berger, President of Automotive Europe at MAG said: “Follow-up orders and awards are the result of first-class customer orientation. I would like to thank all of the employees involved in our ongoing success.”
