The UK and Europe's recycling community will join resource experts and sustainability managers from global manufacturing and retail brands to progress circular economy and closed loop strategies. Waste management and recycling giants Sita UK and Biffa have confirmed they will join P&G, HP, M&S and Virgin at Resource 2014 in ExCeL London, 4-6 March 2014.
Confirmation of the participation of two of the region's largest secondary resource managers completes the loop for Resource 2014, which has already confirmed representatives from manufacturing, retail and design sectors. Chair of the ESA and CEO of SITA UK, David Palmer-Jones, said: "SITA UK is committed to working towards a true circular economy, where the resources we discard and consume are recycled or recovered and directly fed back into the manufacturing process to close the loop.
This circular process will only work with the buy-in and collaboration of everyone involved in the cycle. That's why this event presents a great opportunity to get designers, manufacturers, consumers and resource management companies together and talking about ways in which we can continue to deliver improvements that will make best use of these precious commodities."
Resource event director and co-founder, Stephen Gee, added: "It is great to see that less than two months since the launch of Resource we have secured involvement from the entire supply chain responsible for supporting the development of a truly circular economy. Thought leaders such as Jaguar, Land Rover and Toyota recognise that Resource 2014 can play an important role in unlocking the commercial opportunities that exist for those who embrace a closed loop model."
Resource is the first conference and exhibition that connects the whole supply chain - extraction, design, recycling, manufacturing, retail and resource recovery - to capitalise on the commercial opportunities of a circular economy. Interested parties may register here.
