Manila to host 14th ASEAN Food Conference

EXPERTS in food production and development will gather in SMX Convention Center at the Mall of Asia in Manila for the 14^th ASEAN Food Conference (AFC) from 24-26 June 2015.

Held every two years in ASEAN countries since 1982, the conference discusses scientific issues and technological innovation in order to help propel the region’s food science and technology capabilities. AFC presents the impact of food technology developments on health, nutrition, food security, and environment.

As part of the preparation toward harmonization, AFC has chosen the theme “The Bigger Picture: One ASEAN through Food Technology”. The first and third days will focus on present and future initiatives in food technology. The second day will feature research and studies by food technologists. Over 80 graduate papers will be presented at the event.

Alongside the conference, UBM will host three exhibitions, namely Livestock Philippines 2015 Expo, Feeds Expo Philippines 2015, the Food Processing and Packaging Philippines 2015 Expo, and the Meat Expo Philippines 2015.
