MR RAFAEL BARRERA, sales leader for Asia East at Hypertherm

MR RAFAEL BARRERA is the sales leader for Asia East at Hypertherm (S) Pte Ltd. At Manufacturing Indonesia, he introduced HyAccess®, Hypertherm's new patented extended consumables for the Powermax30®, Powermax30® XP, and Powermax45® air-plasma systems. With HyAccess, plasma torches can be extended by three inches, providing users with better visibility and greater accessibility when cutting or gouging in hard-to-reach areas or confined spaces.

During the show, Hypertherm also introduced a number of torches that are designed to address different cutting needs. The latest torch offering from Hypertherm is the Duramax Hyamp Long Torch, a 1.2 meters-long torch that is particularly suited for use in the scrapyard industry, where the cutting operator needs to stay as far away as possible from the metal piece that they are cutting for safety considerations, and to minimize exposure to excessive heat produced during the cutting process.

According to Barrera, Hypertherm invests heavily in R&D, in order to develop new technologies and improve existing products. This is in line with the company's ongoing commitment to help customers achieve faster and more efficient ways of cutting metal. Hypertherm currently has more than 100 patented technologies related specifically to industrial cutting, and he believes that there are no other companies with the same achievement. This is what gives Hypertherm the edge over competitors, and enables them to gain the trust of customers.

MR ENRIQUE CHEN, sales manager of Action tools Corp., said that the company is engaged in the production and manufacture of sockets and hammer tools for 30 years. Almost all the products are for export; therefore the quality of the products is not a question anymore. Action has been sold in more than 40 countries around the world with the United States as the biggest market for their product, as well as Germany and Japan.

Action's R&D specialists work very closely with their customer in order to understand what they need. He continues that their quality management has passed a lot of international quality certification with products marketing and customer groups all over the world, and won the first Rising Star Award with honor. Chen stated that Asia is a promising place both as market and investment. He added China as the most interesting place to invest due to the low operational cost. Chen looks forward for new businesses with distributors in Thailand and Indonesia.

Foshan Shunde Guoqiang Daosheng Co. Ltd

MR. KIM JONGSUK, R&D director

MR. KIM JONGSUK, R&D director said the company is located in Shunde District of Foshan, China and manufactures CNC series gang tool type lathes, turret lathes, take heart-type lathes and millingtype lathes under the brand DAS. The company cooperates with their Korean partner who designs the machine and prepares the quality standard of the manufacturing. The equipment are widely applied in the manufacture of cars, motorcycles, electronics, optical instruments, clocks and watches, as well as special motors. At the show, the company exhibited, DAS CNC 46C. The machine occupies less space and features an easy machining operation where a tool holder can be provided for thin long material.

Jongsuk came to Manufacturing Indonesia to look for business opportunities in Indonesia. He believes that Indonesia has a very interesting growth in the manufacturing sector. With experience in marketing products in European countries like Turkey and Italy, as well as the United States, Jongsuk trusts that their products can also fulfill the needs of the Indonesian market.

Universal Robot (UR)

MR. ANDREW PETHER, head of technology for APAC

MR. ANDREW PETHER, head of technology for APAC explained how their collaborative robot arms are different from others. The safety feature of the robots enables people to work closely yet safely with this state-of-the art equipment. This feature was exhibited on the show, where visitors have direct access to the UR5 and UR10 robot arms without any safety fence. Pether believed that the unnecessary use of safety fence can save operational cost thus be more efficient to the process using UR robots.

The robot is operated with a very easy and user-friendly program even for operators with no programming experience. The "teach" function can be accessed by pushing the button on the back of the control panel then the robot can be moved using our hands to the desired position and add the position into the program. The easy-touse control panel enables people that have never worked with robots before can very quickly learn to make program on the robot arm.

With the wide range of industries and processing application, UR is enthusiastic in pursuing new challenges in the markets. Seeing the high quality standards applied in their products, UR will open a representative office in Singapore this year to cater for their current and prospective customers in South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia, as well as Australia and New Zealand.

FICEP S.p.A

MR FILIPPO GREMESE, area sales manager

MR FILIPPO GREMESE, area sales manager, described the Italian-based company as a manufacturer of machines for plates, beams, angles, and a developer of production management software for structural steel fabricators. The company has five production facilities in Italy and one in Bordeaux, France, the company was established in 1930. Ficep is committed to innovation, where every part of their machines is the fruit of comprehensive development by dedicated R&D personnel.

During the show, Gremese highlighted the fully automatic CNC machine starting from the software, designing and final product. The fully automatic system enables a more optimising process that will increase the productivity and efficiency. According to Gremese, Ficep is now developing a new technology for plasma and drilling-cutting for plate and he promised to come back to the show next year with two new models for plasma combined with cutting and drilling.

ERMAKSAN

MR HASAN ÇEKI, international sales engineer

Ermaksan is a Turkish company with 49 years of experience in manufacturing fabricating machines. MR HASAN ÇEKI, international sales engineer, said the company is well accepted in Indonesia due to the semi-full CNC machines that can have equal benefits same with the more expensive full CNC machines. The machines use German technology, while the program is user friendly. The operator does not need a lot of experience to operate the machine. At the show, Ermaksan exhibited the CNC HGS 3100x6, Power-Bend Pro and EKM 60/120 model. With the motto "Solution based on your needs" Ermaksan, strives to provide high performance investment with friendly solution.
