Markos expands composite production

The shareholders and Markos board of directors decided to start building another production facility dedicated to fibre reinforced composites.

The decision resulted from an analysis of trends in the global composites market and was a response to growing customer needs for large-size laminate products.

The production area will be over 2000 sqm and another over 900 sqm for storing, offices and social rooms.

The new hall is dedicated to fibre reinforced composites in closed mould techniques (mainly vacuum bag moulding technology). In the first stage, casing of wind turbines will be produced.

In accordance with company environment policy, the facility will be equipped with advanced system for the reduction of volatile organic compounds (mainly styrene) emission into the atmosphere.

Expected start date of the production is August 2013.
