MATERION Performance Alloys is gearing up for greater demand for high-strength copper alloy strip products. This is in response to Mitsubishi Electric Metecs Co. Ltd’s recent announcement about the cessation of copper alloy production activities beginning March this year.
A Materion Corporation (NYSE:MTRN) business, Materion has been a major global supplier of high-performance alloy products for more than 80 years. Its multiple copper-based alloys meet or exceed the properties of Mitsubishi products.
The company’s BrushForm 58 and BrushForm 96 (BF158, BF96) copper nickel tin strip products function as drop-in alternatives for the MX215 and MX96. The two newly launched BrushForm tempers, the TM14 and TM16, feature even greater in foil gauges as thin as .001in or 0.025mm to provide design engineers with more flexibility in next-generation electronic devices.
Materion Performance Alloys marketing director for Strip, Rod and Wire Products Jason Maher said the company has the products and global distribution network to meet changes in the consumer electronics market.
“Our regional offices in Japan, Korea, Hong Kong and Singapore can work with new customers to ensure replacement materials meet or exceed strength and temperature requirements for their applications,” Mr. Maher added.
Mayfield Heights, Ohio-headquartered Materion supplies alloy products, beryllium products, electronic products, precious metal products, and engineered material systems. The company's engineered materials meet technically demanding end-use products in the telecommunications and computer, automotive electronics, appliance, industrial components, plastics tooling, optical media, oil and gas, aerospace and defense, and off-highway and mining equipment markets worldwide.
