Mawarid to start underground copper ore mining next year

Mawarid Mining, the mining and exploration arm of Oman-based MB Holding, will commence its underground mining. It will target copper ore deposits at the company's Ghuzayn concession near Sohar middle of next year, Oman Daily reported. The company currently holds three blocks; Blocks 1, 2 and Ghuzayn, all prospective for VMS deposits. Mawarid currently produces copper from the Mandoos mine located about 45km from Sohar.
