Mazak boosts presence in South East Asia

YAMAZAKI Mazak Corp. has completed the construction of its technology centre and the factory expansion of Yamazaki Mazak Singapore Pte Ltd, and recently held a grand opening ceremony on 19 March 2014. Yamazaki Mazak Singapore Pte Ltd was originally established in 1988 as a support base for sales and service.

Mazak aim to offer more customer-oriented support to their customers in South East Asia, and to establish manufacturing system that will increase export of machine tools to worldwide markets. This production expansion is expected to shorten delivery time and cushion exchange rate fluctuations by expanding the technology centre and factory.

The new showroom is expanded to 1,300 m2 (4x larger than previous one) so that large machines suitable for dynamic industries in Singapore such as oil & gas, semiconductor and aerospace can be exhibited.

As a result of this fifth expansion, production capacity will be increased from 80 units per month to 130 units per month. Automation and unmanned system are implemented in order to increase productivity, such as unmanned production system, including multi-level pallet stocker systems and multi-tasking machines with robots.
