The event got off to a great start with the Keynote address by eminent speaker Mr. Venkatesan Subramaniam, Global Director, Metals & Minerals, Frost & Sullivan. It also covered the role of recycling for a sustained, metal value chain with an analysis into Middle East recycling markets.

Delegates to the event had the opportunity to hear from leading industry experts from around the globe during the day. At the "Steel's Strengths and Weaknesses" session, delegates heard from three important industry players. Adam Smiths from Platts, Doug Kramer, Kramer Metals Ltd, and Evangelos Chatzigiannis, Global Marketing Systems Inc, each provided insights into the demand for ferrous scrap and the prospects for increased arisings in 2014.
