India's largest business-to-business event that recently concluded in Mumbai was another success. The 16th Medical Fair India, the most established multidisciplinary fair in India for diagnostics and medical equipment, came to a close at the Bombay Exhibition Centre. The fair was jointly organised by Messe Düsseldorf GmbH and its Indian subsidiary, Messe Düsseldorf India Pvt. Ltd. Medical Fair India was held last March 12 to 14, 2010 and featured 234 exhibitors from 14 countries, grossing over 7000 m2 in area and with official group participation from Germany, China, Taiwan, USA, Korea and France. Apart from the Indian participation, there were international participants from Brazil, Canada, Hong Kong, Italy, Russia, Singapore, Thailand and UAE. Medical Fair India has once again confirmed its leading position as the number one trade fair in the medical community. With 5659 registered trade visitors, the 3-day event and the accompanying 2-day conference attracted even more visitors than in the previous year. Sixteen percent of visitors came from abroad. The 234 exhibitors who participated in Medical Fair India presented a complete spectrum of new products, services and processes for use in the medical field and in hospitals. In addition to those areas that traditionally generate strong interest, such as medical device technology and electrical medicine, physiotherapeutic processes and medical IT, in particular, were met with increasing demand. The 16th Medical Fair India lived up to its reputation of being India's foremost event for decision-makers. Almost 90% of trade visitors who attended are involved in relevant investment decisions, at least in a consultative capacity, while 70% are decision-makers or have co-decision rights. The visitor of Medical Fair India 2010 was able to find a complete range of medical items and up-to-date information on the latest medical technology that encourages them to invest in latest modern high-tech equipment. A 2-day conference was organised in parallel by Messe Düsseldorf India Pvt. Ltd. in association with the Comnet Conference on Healthcare for the masses. The 17th Medical Fair India will be held on March 25 to 27, 2011 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, India. Medical Fair India is characterised by its clear-cut business-to-business profile. The event is geared to the needs of the healthcare target groups.
