In the Mediterranean, the season of table grapes has begun. Harvests coming from Morocco, and parts of Israel and Egypt will be destined for northern Europe, the UK, the Netherlands, as well as the Gulf countries.
The estimated import of table grapes to the European Union is between 53,000 and 63,000 tonnes this season. Egypt will ship 50,000 tonnes; Morocco, from 8 to 10 000 tonnes and Israel will export 2,000 to 4,000 tonnes. Producers from these areas are also seeking new markets including Asia.
