BRAMPTON, Ontario Medtronic of Canada is ranked in the Top 100 Employers in Canada for 2013, for the third year in a row, according to Mediacorp's annual competition.

The world leading medical technology company, which has close to 450 employees at Medtronic of Canada, sells, services and distributes medical devices used in cardiovascular medicine, diabetes, spinal and neurosurgery, and ear, nose and throat surgery.

Neil Fraser, president of Medtronic of Canada, remarked that being selected as one of Canada's Top 100 Employers was very rewarding and a true recognition of the commitment and dedication of the employees.

"It's our employees who make Medtronic a great workplace with their unique talents and skills and strong commitment to excellence in everything that they do. At Medtronic, we are committed to ensuring we nurture a positive working environment for employees, and place a strong emphasis on best practice in the workplace." said Mr Fraser. "Working together, we continually strive for performance excellence in order to provide the highest levels of product quality and service to the patients and physicians we serve worldwide."

The company's new LEED certified head office, maternity and parental leave top-up payments, tuition subsidies as well as great in-house training, mentoring and job-shadowing programs are among the many reasons Medtronic was chosen as one of Canada's Top 100 Employers, for the past three consecutive years.

The Top 100 Employers award, an annual competition is organized by Mediacorp Canada Inc, recognizes companies that lead their industries in attracting and retaining employees. This year, the recruitment histories of more than 75,000 employers across Canada were reviewed and 16,000 of these were invited to apply. A blue-ribbon academic Advisory Board oversees the selection criteria for each year's competition. The distinguished panel members, drawn from universities across Canada, have each written or edited a major Human Resources textbook in Canada.Men's Tops
