MERCIAN Labels has recently announced it will merge its wholly owned subsidiary AC Labels Ltd into its main business.
The creation of a new Mercian Labels will allow both companies complete access to each other’s facilities, from materials through prepress to a wide range of finished goods.
Millions of pounds invested in the last four years in a new generation of presses and building infrastructure have equipped both companies to move forward together into the powerhouse of print providers. AC Labels has strengthened its reputation for high integrity variable data and bar codes after being acquired by Mercian Labels in 2010. Since then, AC Labels has grown to a company that provides excellent bar code solutions to blue chip companies and institutions, mainly via the Print Trade. These enabled them to bag the prestigious IPIA Trade Printer of the Year award twice in two years. In October 2012, AC Labels received recognition for producing the world’s longest bar code label at 40m long.
Mercian Labels, meanwhile, supplies millions of labels annually to both the Print Trade and end users, and services more than 10,000 businesses. With a combination of digital, flexographic, and hotfoil presses, the company ensures a bespoke labelling solution that spans all industries. Setting the industry standards for fast turnaround, the vast majority of its orders are produced in just three days from artwork approval.
