Merck announces price increases

 

Merck announced that its Surface Solutions business unit will raise the prices for its portfolio of effect pigments, cosmetic active ingredients and other functional materials worldwide. The price will increase by 5-15% depending on the specific product. Details will be communicated directly to the customers.

 

According to Merck, the price adjustment became necessary due to a significant increase in costs for raw materials as well as for labor, energy and logistics. In addition, increased regulatory requirements further contributed to higher production costs.

 

The Surface Solutions business unit is part of Performance Materials at Merck. This business sector comprises the specialty chemicals business of Merck and supplies solutions for displays, computer chips and surfaces of every kind.
