Taiwan Microsoft has announced a partnership with Taiwan AI Labs to sign a memorandum of cooperation. Microsoft Azure will introduce a variety of AI products and the Federated Learning Platform (Harmonia) developed by Taiwan AI Labs. It will also integrate the Microsoft Teams medical collaboration platform, Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI, and Power Virtual Agents to improve productivity, cross-functional communication, medical service quality, and patient safety management. The goal is to accelerate the digital transformation of medical institutions in Taiwan and assist in the implementation of intelligent medical innovation in clinical fields. The two companies will also collaborate with the Ministry of Health and Welfare to promote the establishment and upgrading of Taiwan's "next-generation medical platform," with the aim of improving the ranking of global smart hospitals.
According to Taiwan AI Labs Founder Du Yi-Chin, Taiwan has world-class medical technology, talent, and a strong and complete medical field. By partnering with Taiwan Microsoft and combining advanced and reliable AI, an international-level cloud platform, and large-scale language generation models, they can make the next-generation medical system a smart medical system in Taiwan, which can be expanded to international markets.

Furthermore, Microsoft Taiwan and Taiwan AI Labs have collaborated on Generative AI technology, such as BioGPT, an extension of ChatGPT, that uses the Microsoft Azure cloud platform and Taiwan AI Labs' natural language processing technology product pubmedKB to improve its performance. It not only improves its text creation capabilities to better adapt to specific biomedical application settings, but it also assists biomedical specialists in producing biomedical text data more quickly and accurately to fulfill their needs and accelerate the advancement of biomedical research.
