Swedish company Micvac exhibits innovations including a two-compartment tray for chilled ready meals

MICVAC returns to Cologne, Germany for Anuga FoodTec which runs from 24-27 March 2015. The Swedish company known for the Micvac method and thermoformed products will present these, including the latest two-compartment tray for ready meals.

“Anuga FoodTec 2012 was a success and we established many good contacts with potential customers, so we have high expectations this year,” says Christina Frohm Kramer, marketing director Micvac.

“Visitors that come to Anuga FoodTec are looking for innovative process solutions and Micvac is one,” adds Håkan Pettersson, managing director.  “This combined with some new portfolio development will make a visit to our stand worthwhile for modern producers.”

The Micvac method, an in-pack microwave cooking and pasteurisation process, is an effective and modern way of producing fresh and nutritious meals for the chilled ready meals market.

“Recent surveys show that both German and French consumers would buy and recommend Micvac process prepared meals. They also appreciate the convenient packaging with the valve that whistles when the food has reached a perfect and even temperature,” says communication manager Karolina Eldh.

At the fair, Micvac will present the new two-compartment tray. The vacuum in the pack enables a standing presentation in the shop shelf if required.

“As to food service, we think that our thermoformed products will be a big success,” says Mr Pettersson.

“This is a perfect solution for components such as vegetables, minced meat mixes, fish in sauce, etc.”

The microwave tunnel used in the process is a well thought out design especially constructed for the Micvac method to ensure a homogenous in-pack cooking and pasteurisation. The company can demonstrate how this works at its pilot plant in Sweden.
