A milestone in clip technology

ALTHOUGH we might think of Europe when we mention sausages, Asia is home to just as wide a selection of sausages-many of them akin to the la chang of China. Variations of this highly seasoned dried pork sausage dotted with bits of fat are found everywhere in Southeast Asia, such as the koon chiang in Thailand, the lạp xường of Viet Nam, and the chorizong macau in the Philippines, which also has many types of Spanish-influenced sausages or longganiza. No one quite knows the origin of these traditional sausages, but they remain just as popular as ever. Where before they could only be bought in wet markets, local grocers and butcher shops, a number of these sausages are now branded and sold in supermarkets and specialty shops. These branded sausages are no longer handmade, but are processed in highly automated plants and smokehouses. Even tying operation can be automated. One such clip technology is the FCA 160 from Poly-Clip System. None as fast or flexible The Automatic Double-Clipper FCA 160 is more efficient, faster and more flexible and therefore makes sausage production "automatically more productive" due, in part, to the new voiding separator, the new super-tight clip, and the childishly simple resetting for product changes. These novel technical features make it the most productive universal automatic clip machine in the world. The clip speed sets a new standard for large diameters. The FCA 160 closes all casings, whether plastic, fibrous or collagen s, at up to 160 cycles per minute depending on the product. The output can be individually matched to the product and casing. The calibre range of 38 to 160 mm offers maximum flexibility and productivity. Another first: Poly-clip is the only manufacturer worldwide that offers a clip machine with centralised lubrication-an important step that can no longer be overlooked-that reduces wear, does away with avoidable shutdowns, and lowers maintenance cost results in maximum process and investment security. This system also offers the choice of continuous process monitoring of the selected product parameters, i.e., it automatically checks that the correct clip is present, the die matches the clip and the clip pressure and the size of the separator hole are correctly set. If there are deviations from the stored parameters, the control system corrects automatically or a message, which has to be acknowledged or overwritten, is displayed to the operator. This is logged and therefore remains traceable at any time. More slices per sausage The combination of a new voiding separator and a new clip shape means more slices per sausage and therefore increased earnings. Clip closure is now even tighter thanks to the newly designed voiding separator and a completely new generation of clips. The new clip form creates a symmetrical pleating of the casing and the closed clip achieves a greater holding force. Because of the bacteria-proof closure-depending on the casing-this leads to a longer shelf life. The sausage also has a more attractive appearance with a pleasing, short sausage shoulder.
