Beverage industry leaders gather at Dubai Drink Technology Expo from 13-15 December
DESPITE the economic breakdown of businesses, the Food and Beverage industry is still continuing to make strong headway in many parts of the world. In the Gulf area, for instance, the soft drink and bottled water industry is expected to grow steadily in the upcoming year. In expectation of growths in this market, the Emirate of Dubai will host the premiere specialised event in the MENA region: the Dubai Drink Technology Expo (DDTE) 2010, which will be held from 13 to 15 December at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. This is the third time that DDTE will be held and the event has become a meeting point where beverage industry professionals and retailers from all over the world can gather under one roof. DDTE presents a worldwide range of products and services in the area of beverage technology and liquid food. It also offers the state-of-the-art technology, logistics solutions, and raw materials for the entire industry, which constitutes a vital element to the consumers all over the world. The three-day exhibition focuses on promoting the latest drink processing and packaging systems, light machinery, equipment, technology, materials and services to brand owners, retailers, beverage service operators, manufacturers, processors and logistics services providers. In 2009, DDTE witnessed deals worth USD 35 million towards purchase of light machinery and equipment used in the process of manufacturing, filling and packaging of beverages, and distribution agreements. This year, organiser Index Conference and Exhibitions expects interest to be just as high and the number of transactions to once again run to millions of dollars.
Platform for drinks technology DDTE is one of the most significant shows held in Dubai as it plays an important role in the transfer of technology, expertise and innovations in one of the most important industries. It is an added benefit for technology owners, suppliers and manufacturers and to potential investors in the industry as well. The expo will comprise a number of international pavilions to display the latest production machinery and equipment, process and quality control instruments, storage, transport and handling services associated with the industry. More than 200 key international beverage and machinery companies will have the chance to meet with 10,000 professionals of the regional beverage industry at the DDTE. This offers an excellent chance for networking and an opportunity for retailers to know about the latest market developments and current trends in beverage technology. The Business-to-Business (B2B) meetings programme will be held in the exhibition area to increase the interaction between trade visitors and exhibitors. In addition, a specialised conference organised by the Arab Asian Beverage Alliance (AABA) which is running in conjunction with the DDTE, will be an educational chapter under the guidance and support of the UAE Ministry of Economy and the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry and in collaboration with Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority (JAFZA) and Naturalisations and Residency administration - Dubai as a strategic partner of the event. AABA aims to enhance the business relations between manufacturers, producers, logistic services providers, governmental entities in charge of import and export, businessmen and investors in beverages sector within the Arab world and Asia.
