More locals took part in ProPak China 2013

SHANGHAI – ProPak and China BevTek 2013 was by far the biggest in the show’s history. Organisers said 633 companies from 26 countries participated in the event held on 17-19 July 2013 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC).

Exhibitors occupied some 40,000+ square metres of floor space. Pavilions were set up by Germany, Japan, Korea, the UK, United States, France and Italy. The largest contingent came from the homeland, accounting for 65%.

Visitors numbered 17,951, representing various sectors of the food industry, as well as the pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, FMCG goods, electronics and industrial manufacturing sectors. About 45% of attendees came from Shanghai, which is a little lower than the previous show. However, participation from other parts of China was higher this time around.

For the sixth year running, the China Food Industry Association, Brewing Committee selected China BevTek to host their Annual General Meeting and Brewing Technology forum alongside the exhibition. Other associations also carried out conferences -- the Shanghai Food & Drug Administration organised conferences on processing technology for soft drinks as well as on medical packaging materials. The Shanghai Beverage Association also arranged presentations on trends in the industry.

Shanghai Ingram Micro Packaging Technology Co., Ltd and Rockwell held individual company seminars whilst international trade associations PMMI, North America and the PMMA, the UK each hosted buyer meeting programmes.

ProPak China 2014, China BevTek and sub show China Dairy Tek will return to Shanghai for the 20th anniversary edition on 16-18 July 2014.
