Moving beyond tradition

As the world's leading diversified manufacturer of vacuum compression, rubber injection moulding and vulcanising processing machinery, Tung Yu has created its own niche in a highly competitive industry. Targeting rubber and silicon-based applications and some metal processing as well, its products stand apart from those available in the market. Tung Yu further improved its product identity with the launch of its new corporate identity and image. "The new product identity aims at making Tung Yu more visible in the market and to put it ahead of other traditional machinery manufacturers," according to Mr. Steven Yen, Vice General Manager. The company has gone a long way from the time it released its very first compression machine for the rubber industry. Production of such machine then was concerned with the even distribution of force and temperature. "With these two design modules - strength and heat - in mind, Tung Yu's R&D built an integrated CAD (Computer Aided Design), FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and accumulated design experience for improvement. Customer's needs and attempts to innovate also served as our guide," explained Mr. Yen. A perfect product is a result of cautious and outstanding design and Tung Yu believes that strong R&D is the immense force driving it towards continuous growth. "To maintain this competitive strength, we have invested tremendous time and efforts onto the process of training professional engineers for executing electronic control, mechanic structure and hydraulic circuit design," according to Mr. Yen. Tung Yu has an opportunity to serve customers in different industries, such as 3C, composite material, plywood, metal musical instrument, among others. Moreover, it has obtained expertise in producing vulcanising equipment - Rotocure - which is used for medical, conveyor belt industries. Tung Yu's products are exported to five continents and branches are operating in Japan and India, while exclusive agents serve customers in Southeast Asia, Europe and America. The company takes pride in being able to listen to its customers and anticipating market trends. "Often imitate, Never duplicate - that is the basic spirit of Tung Yu," Mr. Yen stressed. To satisfy customers' requirement, Tung Yu launched a new product - the RT9 injection moulding machine with close loop, adopting feedback system for injection unit to enhance the precision of speed, pressure and injection volume. "Both RT9 inj e c t ion ma chine and TYC compression machine are making their debut at K 2010 exhibition in Düsseldorf," according to Mr. Yen. As part of its strategy to improve and meet changing market preferences, the company is moving towards the "green path" as it plans to launch more new products that will make their mark in the global market for being environment friendly and energy efficient. "This year, we have developed new heating insulator installed in our machinery and it decreases the carbon emission induced from the product heating system. Energy saving is always part of the plans and has become a target in the process of launching new products," Mr. Yen explained. (the end)Nike
