International Metalworking News for Asia (IMNA) interviews Mr. Bryan Lee, Manager of Overseas Sales and Marketing Department at Taiwan Takisawa Technology Co. Ltd. The company specialises in manufacturing precision machine tools and PCB (printed circuit board) drillers for domestic and international markets.

IMNA: Please tell us more about Taiwan Takisawa.

Bryan Lee: Taiwan Takisawa is a company with a long history. In the global market, our brand is known for “Steadiness” and “Endurance”. Our machines are also popular in the second-hand markets. After years of operations, our machines are still capable of providing quality performance and so they are very much welcome by a wide variety of buyers.

We have a simple rule regarding our product development policy, that is, “Simple to Complex”. Taiwan Takisawa progresses with a steady beat as we pursue steady growth with regards to the company’s operations and we also engage in continuous and non-stop improvement of our technology. Moving forward by keeping steady beats, Taiwan Takisawa is a leading company in the machine tool industry. Our machine developments are moving towards our objectives of automatic, bigger size/bore and multi-axes applications.

In the past, many manufacturers relied heavily on distributors to help them in developing the markets or serving end-users. Now we are going a step further to serve our customers by establishing overseas business and technology centers. These centres aim to give immediate support and satisfy customers’ business needs. By having localised services, local buyers do not have to worry about insufficient support.

IMNA: What is your plan for South East Asia?

Bryan Lee: We are planning to establish a technology development centre in this region. We expect our customers to greatly benefit from the instant support given. Support will include training, after sales service and consulting. However, we have not finalised the location yet. It might be in Thailand or Indonesia. Our businesses in these two countries are good and demands have been increasing gradually. So it is definitely worthwhile to invest more.

IMNA: What are your products for the industries in Thailand and Indonesia?

Bryan Lee: Most of our machines sold to these two countries are our compact size two-axis machines with six-inch and eight-inch chucks, which can be commonly used in the motorcycle and automotive industries. On top of offering compact size machines, our goal is also to offer multi-tasking machines. These high-end machines can be used in the electronics components and aerospace industries. For the energy industry and oil & gas industry, we offer the heavy duty cutting/big bore size machines such as machines equipped with 15-inch, 18-inch and even 24-inch chucks, with turning length covering from two to four meters. These special features are ideal for the energy industry.

IMNA: How about other emerging markets?

Bryan Lee: Buyers from emerging markets welcome our two-axis machines and our relative export volume to there is fairly steady. Now we want to promote our multi-tasking machines and heavy-duty cutting/big bore machines to the emerging markets as we see a lucrative potential. As I mentioned earlier, our two-axis machines are mostly used in the motorcycle and automotive industries, but in Russia, unexpectedly, hydraulic components and other accessories companies use our two-axis machines. For the European market, our multi-tasking machines are commonlyButy sportowe Nike
