MTA Singapore: Hexagon Metrology interview

Mr. Lim Boon Choon is the Vice President of APAC at Hexagon Metrology Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd.  According to him, “Hexagon has embarked on many acquisitions in the past ten year and now has the widest portfolio of metrology products and solutions in the market.”  The company will continue to acquire differentiated technologies and develop in new countries.  Mr. Lim affirms that the company brings also now all its different brands under the same umbrella with the same unified branding strategy.

Mr. Lim introduces following two new products:  the Hexagon Metrology 4.5.4 SF, a CMM which excels in tough shop floor conditions and is designed from the ground up to surpass the demanding requirements of shop floor users and Hexagon Metrology Optiv Lite DCC as the vision answer to efficiency and product quality in manufacturing. Produced with a fully automated three-axis stage and coupled with the world famous PC-DMIS software Optiv Lite ensures a quality process using optimum efficiency and reliability. 

Mr. Lim comments on the importance of Hexagon Metrology being a global company with a local touch. Indeed it could be seen as both a global metrology company with a local management but with a global reach.

Service to the customers is Hexagon’s main focus.  While building up and training a pool of highly qualified engineers, the metrology company can provide top-notch service to its customers and will continue to invest in people, training and facilities.

Looking forward, Mr. Lim thinks that Asia Pacific is still a very dynamic region. He is seeing general investments coming into Southeast Asia, a strong development in South Korea, a great potential for the Thailand and Indonesia.
