Optical Gaging (S) Pte Ltd (OGS) is a division of Quality Vision International Company.  The parent company Optical Gaging Products Inc., USA was incorporated in Rochester, New York in 1954 and specializes in the manufacture and design of non-contact and multi-sensor metrology systems. Our devotion to innovation and quality has become industry standards relied on by major manufacturers.

As the Asian headquarters, OGS provide sales and service supports to South East Asia region. At OGS, we believe that each sales signals the beginning of a new friendship.

Over the years, we have persistently expanded our network of Sales and Technical Centres and authorized representatives to provide unsurpassed training and application support for all our customers. We are also the distributor for Shape Grabber 3D Laser Scanning, Inspection, Measurement systems in South East Asia.

During 1990’s seeing a niche market of OGP products in South East Asia, Optical Gaging Products, Inc. (OGP Inc.) decided to make it available in Singapore. Optical Gaging (S) Pte Ltd (OGS) was established in Singapore on December 1995 as a wholly-owned U.S.A company. 

Being a Quality Vision International (OGP’s parent holding company) company, OGS pledges to provide innovation and quality products with the compliment of having a dynamic team which consists of sales, technical support and authorized representatives in South East Asia, South China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, India, Australia, New Zealand and Middle East.

Mr Kirk Gor Hua, the then Managing Director for Singapore & Shanghai divisions (Mr Kirk had since retired in Aug 2012) realized in early 1990 that there is a vital problem in the current market - there is no equipment to measure tiny parts or easily deformed parts. When he came across SmartScope developed by OGP Inc., he was surprised how SmartScope could easily solve customer’s daily measurement problems. 

Hence he introduced SmartScope to South East Asia market and provided training and application supports to transfer ‘know-how’ skill to customers. Through his sheer hard work, determination and perseverance over the years, OGP products gradually built its strong fan base.

Today, SmartScope ZIP 250 is the preferred video measurement system used by many manufacturers around the world. It has high-resolution colour video camera, flexible zooming capabilities and superb LED illuminators providing sharp video images for edge detection processing. 

Most SmartScope series are available with contact and non-contact sensors such as touch probe, laser, micro-probe and white light probe to work as a multi-sensors machine, which provides flexibility in terms of measurement requirement.

Mr Kirk mentions it could be a challenge to introduce new measurement concept and unknown brand name unless the product has proven track record. With this in mind, Mr Kirk sells the concept of how the OGP products could assist to increase production through put if quality of the product made is improved with inspection. With better quality control, part defects are detected earlier, suitable corrective actions are taken and this results in less wastage and more cost saving.
