Among the company’s new products is the Rosehip extract which was awarded as one of the top 3 most innovative ingredients at Fi India 2023. As the spherical, reddish-orange fruit of this extract emerges from the pollinated blossoms of Rosa species, it brings the cherished authentic essence of rosehips across an extensive array of culinary uses. The balance of tanginess and subtle floral sweetness seamlessly enriches a spectrum of products such as jams, jellies, and beverages. The Rosehip extract has a remarkable capacity to endure baking processes while maintaining its flavour integrity and flavour consistency.
The Encapsulated ranges were also another highlight at Mane Kancor’s booth in Fi Asia. These ingredients feature micro encapsulation through spray drying technology which captures the oleoresins and essential oils in a powder format. The process increases product stability, offers longer shelf life and a long-lasting stable flavour. It also controls the release of the core flavour in high temperature and provides a unique flavor profile and better flavour delivery, according to Mr Mernon.

Mane Kancor’s Gentle extract is solvent residue free. “Traditional oleoresins and extracts are extracted using solvents and contain allowable limit of solvent residues and they cannot claim Clean Label,” said Mr Menon. “We have customers who want clean label solutions and we have developed the Gentle Extract range of ingredients which have no solvent residues. The Gentle Extract range is more compliant to international markets that require clean label declaration. The ingredients are much more stable and give distinctive taste profiles.”
The ingredients are widely versatile in terms of applications.
“Looking at consumer trends, Gentle Extracts can be used in ready to eat, snacks, salad dressings and sauces, while Rosehip Extract is good for Bakery or the sweet category products as well as beverages,” said Mr Menon. “Our ingredients will also be very cross- category capable in such food matrices. We are able to address ingredient solutions for different regional cuisine concepts such as soups, sauces, snacks, and noodle seasonings.”
These application concepts were presented at Fi Asia.
“Today our team are also showcasing application concepts like the Mala soup, the vegan fish ball soup and Vegan Gyoza as plant-based food and ingredients to enhance the flavor profile of plant-based products are rising and popular trends in Asia. We showcase the various savory ingredients and taste masking profiles in these trendy application concepts,” added Mr Injodey.
