New era of advanced technology

Source:ringier Release Date:2013-08-15 341

Radar Industrial Co. inherited San Shing Machinery’s machine tools technology and history and has since become successful in this field. General Manager Louie Lin achieved skills and knowledge through years of being in the company. In an interview with International Metalworking News for Asia (IMNA), Lin said the company plans to develop a new complete machine line, and is confident about Radar’s future.

IMNA: Please tell us about the establishment and development of Radar.

Lin: The company was founded in 2007. Although we are young in terms of years, we have enough experiences. For one, I have been serving San Shing Machinery for many years. My engineering background is established. The company I served earlier has been working on lathe industry for about 50 to 60 years and those experiences affirm high standard and excellent practice. Here in RADAR, I lead a group of passionate and energetic people. They are capable of making large-size heavy duty CNC vertical lathes that are high in precision, stable, and rigid. We always listen to our customers and succeed in knowing their needs. Hence, we are capable of providing machines that are convenient, user-friendly and efficiency.

IMNA: How do you run the company and what are your future prospects?

Lin: Our mission is to offer quality and good after-sales service. RADAR works with partners in order to create a win-win situation. As you know, machine tools are integral in all industries, such as IT, electronics, components, and many others. Therefore, I believe the future of this field is bright. I explored this field at a very young age. I deeply recognise machine tools as very valuable. In the future, RADAR will be able to generate a wide range of product series, a well-organised manufacturing procedure, and capable
management system. With the mentioned competence, we are capable of promoting our products to every corner of the world.

IMNA: How was 2012, any ongoing and future projects?

Lin: Radar is still very young, so we tread the mile carefully in order to make every step perfect. In 2012, we succeeded in selling our products into the European, the U.S., South America, and Mainland China markets, which is good because we reached our goal. Although during the process we encountered minor issues and problems, such as our cooperation with our dealers, but the situations were solved eventually. We have all learned how to work and support each other.

Speaking of 2013, we will keep our strategies in 2012 with our dealers and others, we will expand in new market areas and contact new dealers, especially dealers in the ASEAN, Russia, and India because those are emerging economies. Unfortunately, the Japanese Yen and South Korean won depreciate this year, but we will face the challenge with determination and new tactics.

IMNA: How about your tactics in the ASEAN market?

Lin: Within these two years, requests for machine tools in the ASEAN region especially Indonesia and Vietnam soar significantly. Hence, we recognise this area for further undertakings. We think Thailand is a good market for our products since Taiwanese suppliers occupy a certain percentage in this nation. On the other side, when you want to sell your products in the ASEAN, lower price is a crucial tactic. Now we promote our products with acceptable costs. Moreover, we support our dealers on the fairs for promotion and exposure, maximising our brand value. This is what we do now in ASEAN. We want to establish our brand in this market and we aim to make our customers feel convinced about RADAR.
