New jewelry for sun protection

Netatmo, a consumer electronics company is rolling out, June, billed as the first bracelet that measures sun exposure. It advises women how to protect their skin on a daily basis from the effects of the sun, according to the company, which will showcase the device at the Consumer Electronics Show tomorrow inLas Vegas.

June tracks UV intensity in real-time and the total sun exposure absorbed by the user's skin throughout the day. Depending on the woman's skin type, an app calculates the suggested maximum daily exposure. The  app can notify the user when to protect their skin, and it also features a summary of time spent in the sun, allowing the user to see when the UV rays impact on the skin was most intense during the day.

The bracelet observes the habits of the user and the companion app determines the recommended sun protection for their skin type whether it be applying SPF, putting on a hat, wearing sun glasses or seeking out shade.

June, which has a suggested retail price of $99, was created French jewelry designer Camille Toupet in the spirit of a diamond with glimmering facets. It comes in gold, platinum and gunmetal.
