New show features, more conferences

ProPak Asia 2013, A leading international event for food, drink and pharma processing, filling and packaging technology, opens on 12-15 June at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC). Occupying six halls at BITEC (40,000sqm of floor space), Propak will present some 1,800 participants from 41 countries displaying 3,500 machines.

Thailand, one of the major exporters of food in the region, flaunts its capability in the area of frozen shrimp and canned pineapples. With AEC2015 just around the corner, the country is in a strong position to benefit from closer ASEAN trading ties. Its economic growth and urbanisation fuel domestic food and drink consumption as manufacturers are investing significantly in production capacity and store expansion. This bolsters demand for higher value processing and packaging for the food and drink industries.

The Asia Drink Conference is a new feature of the show, and is a premium event for senior managers in the beverage manufacturing industry.

Spain joins the roster of countries with pavilions. including China, France, Germany, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, UK and the USA.

Another new feature is the addition of the Warehousing & Logistics and Packaging Materials zones.  The other five zones are DrinkTechAsia, Lab&TestAsia, PharmaTechAsia, PlasTechAsia and PrintTechAsia.

Conferences, seminars and workshops have been organised as well: “Asia Drink Conference” organised by Eastern Trade Media (ETM) and Bangkok Exhibition Services (BES), “Thai Star and Asia Star Packaging Award and Press Conference” by The Department of Industrial Promotion (DIP), “Food Innovation Asia Conference” under the theme “EmpowMen's Tops
