TETRA Pak has announced the Tetra Brik Aseptic 500 Edge. The new package size is part of the award-winning Tetra Brik Aseptic Edge family and is targeted at smaller households.
Formil milk in Tetra Brik Aseptic 500 EdgeAustria-based dairy company Berglandmilch is the first to use the new package for its Formil premium milk brand. The company adopts a Tetra Pak A3/Flex DIMC filling machine with QuickChange™, which allows it to switch between 1000ml and 500ml packages within 15 minutes.
Berglandmilch managing director Josef Braunshofer said the decrease in household sizes is prompting more consumers to shift to smaller milk pack sizes. “The new Tetra Brik Aseptic 500 Edge is exactly what we have been looking for. We were delighted to see the success of the product during its pilot launch, and hear directly from consumers that they not only love the milk but also liked the overall look and feel, the ease of use, and the way the product fits with their lifestyle.” Mr. Braunshofer said.
The average number of children per household worldwide is projected to drop from 1.9 in 1980 to 1.0 by 2020. The highest rate of growth will be amongst single-person households and couples without children, which are forecast to nearly double to top 330 million during the same period, according to Euromonitor blog posted in July 2013.
These changes will be brought about by changing lifestyles, reduced fertility rates, and the rising cost of raising children.
