LEERDAM, the Netherlands – Non-branded contract bar manufacturer VSI has begun operations at its third groundbreaking plant in Leerdam. With cutting-edge technology and two new production lines, the company can respond to growing customer demand for tailor-made bars. Total production capacity is now up to 250 million bars annually. With this latest investment, VSI expects to further strengthen its position on the global market.
In addition to its existing 135 employees, the new plant has created 40 more jobs in Leerdam. Following a sustainable and continuous growth strategy, VSI already leads the European bar market, with clients spanning the continent as well as the Middle East, Australia, South Africa and South America.
Gerard Janssens, the company’s CEO, said: “We are extremely pleased that our new plant is now fully operational as it allows for even more efficient bar production. By being able to offer higher quantities, we also hope to grow in other markets outside of Europe, and expect to further strengthen our position worldwide.”
VSI is a non-branded manufacturing company specializing in tailor-made and custom-specific development and private label production of bars for several markets and purposes. Its portfolio comprises meal replacement bars, sports and energy bars, functional bars with one or more functional components, as well as snack bars featuring great tastes and – if desired – nutritional USPs such as reduced fat or calorie content.
Its accumulated expertise enables VSI to guarantee optimal translation from an idea into a real and marketable product. In line with customer needs, the company offers collaboration on every level, ranging from single parts of the process to total development and implementation as a “full service” partner. VSI can provide complete development support for the brands of both large and small companies, and is able to accept relatively small order volumes. VSI is based in Leerdam, the Netherlands.
