NILIT Plastics expands nylon output in China

NILIT Plastics actively participates at CHINAPLAS this year as it aims to work closely with existing and potential customers in the region. The company has been providing customised engineering thermoplastics for a wide variety of applications.

The company’s China operation is geared towards producing high quality nylon (polyamide) 6.6 for thermoplastics and apparel applications. The company has been providing high-quality nylon 6.6 solutions worldwide. Its products are sold in 60 countries around the world and it has plants or offices in Asia, Europe, Latin America, the US, and Asia-Pacific Region.

“We have expanded our China facility, located in Suzhou, by as much as 50%, which signifies our continuous effort to develop and explore the Chinese market,” according to  Shay Kastoriano, General Manager of Nilit (Suzhou) Engineering Plastic Technologies Co., Ltd.  On April 10, the company held a joint opening ceremony after expansion construction.  

Its POY plant has the most advanced technologies in Asia capable of producing the entire yarn product lines. Nilit invested $97 million in initial facilities in 2006 and another $70 million in expansion last year to pursue its strategy of meeting China’s market demand. Nilit Nylon is dedicated to modified plastic particles used for nylon 6.6 chemical fibres and industrial purposes. Some of its clothing materials hold records in the country.

“We offer a broad range of nylon, and in this area, we have been highly specialised and capable of offering our customers their specific requirements,” according to Kastoriano. Nilit nylons find extensive uses in electricity, electronics, auto, train, household appliances, power tools, and construction sectors. Production lines are also dedicated for modified and flame-retardant nylon products featuring top quality, environment friendly, and low cost.

“Our presence here at CHINAPLAS signifies our optimism of the market. We want to work closely with our customers to produce compounds that will boost their production efficiency and improve their competitiveness,” Kastoriano stressed.
