A NEW shaving gel from Gillette features a no-rust plastic package design, a dispenser that leaves less mess and waste, and a gel gauge that lets users see how much product remains. The Gillette Fusion ProGlide Sensitive 2-in-1 Shave Gel Plus Skin Care was launched this week in the United States.
The packaging redesign for Gillette Fusion ProGlide Sensitive 2-in-1 Shave Gel Plus Skin Care should be welcome change, since a Gillette survey* of 300 male respondents in the U.S. cites avoiding shaving messes (46%), preventing rust rings (39%) and knowing how much gel remains (48%) as improvements they would like to see in their shave gel.
According to the same survey, 60% of men said a smoother shave is an improvement they’d like to see from their shave cream or gel. Gillette reformulated the Fusion ProGlide Sensitive 2-in-1 Shave Gel Plus Skin Care with a new cooling agent aimed at leaving skin feeling smooth, soft, cool and refreshed long after the shave.
Unlike using water to shave, which typically leaves hair in its original rigid state rather than softening it, the shave gel provides a protective blanket that prevents the evaporation of water and keeps beard hair soft during the shave. Additionally, the lubricating characteristics of shaving gel reduce friction between the blade and skin, improving razor glide for a smoother, more comfortable shave.
* Gillette, in conjunction with Ketchum Global Research & Analytics, worked with Ipsos to conduct an online survey of 300 men in the United States between the ages of 18 and 40. Interviewing was completed between 10/23/2014-11/3/2014. The margin of error is +/- 5.66% and results are reported at the 95% confidence level.
