Norgine, Arc Medical partner to distribute Endocuff Vision

NORGINE and Arc Medical Design Ltd have recently entered a partnership agreement that enables Norgine to commercialize and distribute the Endocuff Vision^TM across several major European markets, Australia, and New Zealand. 

 

Norgine will mark its first Endocuff Vision product launch in the UK in the second quarter of 2015.  

 

The Endocuff Vision, a Class 1 sterile medical device used in colonoscopy, was designed to enhance tip control during extubation and improve mucosal vision in patients with diseases of the colon, including colorectal cancer. Improved lesion visualization has been shown to yield an increase in both the Adenoma Detection Rate (ADR) and Mean Adenomas per Patient (MAP) rate.

 

The single-use endoscopic overtube fits onto the distal end of an endoscope. It measures about 2.5cm long by 1.5cm wide or 3.5cm with arms extended and has minimal weight.

Colorectal cancer is currently the second most common cause of cancer-related deaths around the world. In 2012, about 1.4 million new cases of colorectal cancer were diagnosed worldwide. Each year, about 412,000 people are diagnosed with colorectal cancer in Europe.
