OCTAL triples capacity of PET resin

Commissioning two of the world’s largest vertical reactors at its PET complex in Salalah, Sultanate of Oman, has enabled OCTAL to increase its annual production capacity to over 1 million metric tonnes of PET bottle-grade resin. The move has secured the firm’s stature in the industry as the world’s largest single site PET producer. The company is now halfway through its investment plan with additional capacity scheduled for 2015 and 2016. When complete, the site will manufacture a total of 2.5 million tonnes per year for both PET resin and its primary raw material, PTA.
