Odisha fasttracks project for plastic, polymer and allied cluster

The Odisha government is rushing the establishment of a plastic, polymer and allied cluster in Balasore (PPACB). At an estimated project cost of Rs 81.90 crore, the cluster is being constructed on the outskirts of Balasore town, and covers three areas - Ganeswarpur, Somnathpur and Balgopalpur. State-owned Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (Idco) is facilitator of the project. A Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) has been formed with representatives from the Centre, the state government and North Odisha Chamber of Commerce & Industries (NOCCI) to implement the project. The project costs will be shouldered by a grant from the Centre, the state government, contribution from industries and a term loan.
