Olam joins Fi Europe for the first time

Global ingredients supplier and processor Olam International Limited said that three of its business units, Cocoa, Spices & Vegetable Ingredients (SVI), and Edible Nuts will be exhibiting at Food Ingredients Europe (FiE 2013). This is the first time the company will join the event.

“Olam’s global ability to source sustainably, coupled with our expertise in processing and product development, benefits customers across our ingredients portfolio, from cocoa to cashew to garlic,” says head of Industrial Cocoa and Cocoa Ingredients, Alain Fredericq. “Whether it is guaranteeing traceability or creating new tastes to stay ahead of the curve, our aim at FiE is to show how Olam can positively impact our customers’ brands, products and bottom line.”

Olam Cocoa sources from over one million cocoa farmers worldwide including Indonesia and Ghana.  At the fair, the company will demonstrate how the best beans go into its portfolio of Macao high quality cocoa powders (customised, high specification natural and alkalised powders).  Since Olam implements smallholder training, financing and social investment programmes through the Olam Livelihood Charter, it can ensures verified sustainable sourcing and consistency in bean volume and quality.

Headquartered in Fresno, California, Olam SVI is a global provider of dehydrated onion, garlic, capsicums and pepper. It will showcase its supply chain control, from sourcing ingredients to creating value-added formulations.

Olam Edible Nuts is a supplier of almonds, cashews, natural and semi-finished hazelnut kernel products, and peanuts.  

Fi Europe 2013 will take place on 19-21 November 2013 in Frankfurt, Germany.
