MEHECO also presents Collutorium, a liquid solution product with lysostaphin as a major constituent. In a study by SHI Qiang et al. from the Department of Epidemiology, School of Public Health, Fudan University, Shanghai, China, the effect of complex lysostaphin against human influenza A virus in vitro was investigated. Their study results suggested that complex lysostaphin plays an important role in the inhibition of influenza A virus infection in vitro and that lysostaphin could be a potential anti-influenza drug, an inexpensive and effective option in coping with influenza outbreaks and emergency therapies.
