Pack powder products into small PE bags

THE Adams® technology from Haver & Boecker enables manufacturers to pack powder bulk products as well as products with difficult flow properties into airtight PE packaging. In 2014, the company premiered a version which allows the filling of powder type products into much smaller PE bags. The first of its kind, the Roto Packer®Adams Mini expands the packing weight range to include packs of only 1kg to 10kg.

 

The Roto Packer Adams Mini is also fast, delivering up to 600 bags per hour at steplessly selectable weights. Filling into bags made from a tubular film or into every type of pre-manufactured bag is possible. By using an additional module, the bags can be formed directly from a flat film within the Roto-Packer system.

 

Manufacturers can be assured the bags are sealed air-tight and are impermeable to the weather. They are clean, compact and provide for an attractive appearance. PE bags also allow for full-surface, multiple-colour print and photo-quality images, product information and barcodes.  Images can be clearly seen since the bags can stand upright on store shelves. All these offer customers added marketing.

 

“The market had recognised the general advantages of filling into PE bags and made positive experiences. So about one year ago we got the request to expand the technology so that it would also handle the typical package sizes of 1, 5 or 10kg,” said Burkhard Reploh, manager of the Building Materials and Minerals business unit. Since then the specialists at Haver & Boeker have been busy expanding the filling weight range.

 

Product compaction plays an important role during filling. Depending on the product, not only the proven techniques such as the vibrating bottle are used with the Roto Packer Adams Mini, but also new methods. “Our concept for success is the removal of air at and in the bag,” Mr Reploh said.
