Pakistani beverage producer poised for market growth in the CSD sector

Looking forward to positive growth in the local carbonated soft drink sector, Pakistan Beverage Limited (PBL) has invested in a Sidel Standalone SBO8 Universal2Eco blower to boost efficiency

THE consumption of carbonated soft drinks in Pakistan is second only to milk in terms of quantity consumed. In 2015, local consumption was around 825.9 million liters, and the figure is expected to grow to in excess of one billion liters by 2019, at CAGR of 7.4 percent.

Pakistan Beverage Limited (PBL), a leading beverage producer and a franchisee of PepsiCo in the country, is experiencing this market growth, so much so that it needs to increase efficiency at its plant in Karachi. The company opted for another Sidel blower that can fulfil its criteria for bottle quality, sustainable and reliable production for multi-serve packages, and optimized operating costs.

After installing the new Sidel SBO8 Universal2Eco blower, PBL will be producing 16,000 bottles per hour for 500 ml, 1.5 liter and 2.25 liter bottles. Equipped with Ecoven technology, it reduces electricity consumption and offers a large heating reserve and fast heating to facilitate high output. It also delivers excellent heat treatment precision, which ensures identical PET bottle characteristics and quality.  This technology, which has made this SBO range of blowers so successful, has been carried through in the development of the latest modular generation of Sidel Matrix™ blowers and Combis.
