Pallet system saves space, time for food distributor

JALEEL Traders, one of UAE's largest food products distributors, has commissioned the country's first high-density storage and pallet system for their cold store at Aweer Fruit & Vegetable Market. Designed and installed by Acme Group, the Pallet Mole system picks and loads a 40' container within 30 minutes, and sets new standards in floor space utilisation and operator productivity. Acme's South African partners, Storage Management Systems, developed the Pallet Mole system. Intelligent self-propelled shuttle units run on rails custom developed to handle pallets on each level of the storage system. The layout can be designed to go up to 60 pallets deep. The system requires fewer man-hours to operate than other high-density systems. Operators move pallets to and from the storage systems while the automated shuttle does the interior deposit and retrieve functions, greatly reducing the chances of damage to the product, to the rack and to forklift equipment.
