numbering machines, industrial inkjet printers and camera verification systems.
The success story began with a vision by founder Paul Leibinger to create numbering systems. It wasn’t long before the company became known as the numbering specialist, as verified by several developments and patent applications. Central banks and printing houses all over the world print serial numbers on bills, lottery tickets and others, with LEIBINGER numbering machines.
After Mr Leibinger’s death in 1963, his son Günther took over management, growing the numbering machines business in Tuttlingen. Later on he expanded outward to build a global distributor network.
New equipment were also introduced. In 1992, LEIBINGER started developing camera systems for verification. In 1996, it added industrial inkjet printers for product marking as a third product area. The company would later be known for these two new divisions. From the first model, the Codi-Jet up to the industrial small character inkjet printers JET3 and JET2neo it produces today, LEIBINGER says it has provided reliability and operator convenience, and has gained the trust of customers in dynamic markets. LEIBINGER exports to Asia, focusing on China, and in North America, where sales are conducted by its own sales company.
Family-oriented business
Even as a successful international company, LEIBINGER remains family-oriented and loyal to its location in Tuttlingen. In 1999, all of the company’s German locations and product lines were consolidated in a 10,000 m2 headquarter in Tuttlingen. The company, which has 200 employees, plans to expand the site next year.
