Pharmed and Healthcare Vietnam 2009 Continues Tradition

Ho Chi Minh City Exhibition & Convention Center (HIECC) became the venue of what has become a tradition and widely recognized international event - PHARMED & HEALTHCARE VIETNAM 2009. Pharmed & Healthcare Vietnam 2009, which took place last September 23- 26, 2009, was organized by VIETFAIR, VIMEDIMEX, and Vietnam Central Health Communication & Education Center and hosted by the Ministry of Health of Vietnam. It was a large scale exhibition that provided grounds for the establishment of business relations between Vietnamese and foreign companies. There were exchanges of ideas and experiences pertaining to introduction of investment opportunities in the healthcare industry. Despite economic slowdown, Vietnam's medical device and pharmaceutical industry saw a considerable growth in 2009. It became one of the most efficient and dramatically developing sectors of the Vietnamese economy. Given the population of 86 million people, Vietnam is a major potential market for medical and pharmaceutical firms. This was evident in the large turnout in attendance during the recently concluded PHARMED & HEALTHCARE VIETNAM 2009. This year, the event attracted more than 400 foreign and local groups coming from China, Korea, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, India, Pakistan, Australia, Russia, Czech, U.K., France, Germany, Holland, U.S., Canada, Hong Kong, Philippines, and Taiwan.
