CUSTOMERS of food-safe detectable products from Detectamet have the option to choose pink, which the company has added as it ninth colour. But more than just getting a new shade of detectable gloves, sleeves, mixing tools or materials, customers are guaranteed to be taking part in charitable work as well.
Detectamet is donating 10% of its total earnings of its pink products to Candlelighters, a Yorkshire-based charity run by parents of children with cancer.
“It was an easy step to make our pink also work for them. We decided that we would give a tenth of total earnings of Pink Products to a special cancer charity in our area,” said Detectamet MD Angela Musson. “Our customers will know when they order ‘something-in-pink’ that they are not only protecting their business from contamination, they will also be assisting families worthy of help.”

When a child is diagnosed with cancer, lives are turned upside down in an instant. Not just for the child but for their parents, siblings, family and friends. Priorities change and everyday concerns suddenly seem trivial. Getting well again can be a long and challenging journey, physically, emotionally and financially. Helping and supporting those children and their families is why Candlelighters was formed more than 40 years ago and it is why we are still here today. - Candlelighters
